Offered for sale is an extremely rare and highly desirable Wade Boggs All Star bat.  This black Adirondack gamer shows excellent use.  There are ball, seam and ink transfer marks clustered on left and right sides of the barrel.  There is checking and grain separation on the front of the barrel.  On the barrel appears "BICK STICK  WADE BOGGS  1986 ALL STAR GAME".  Dried pine tar appears at center of the bat (near the white ring) and at the lower handle area.  On the knob is correctly stamped the model number (288RJ) and WB.  Adirondack All Star bats of this vintage are typically stamped with the model number and player's initials. Wade has also penned his number (26) in typically Boggs style.  The bats weight (32) is also factory written on the knob in blue ink.  Aside from he grain separation on the barrel, this historic piece of lumber remains uncracked.  

1986 was a special year for Wade and the Red Sox.  Wade was elected to his second career All Star game (playing in 12 total during his career) and won the AL batting title with a .357 average ( he would win the AL batting title 5 times).  The Red Sox has one of their most successfully seasons winning the AL pennant.  A rare All Star game bat from one of Wade's batting title seasons.....................................................................$2295.00
